By far the most popular question {and worry} I get from my clients is, "What do I wear for a boudoir session??" Thankfully, there is no wrong or right answer to this question! A session wardrobe is as unique as the beautiful woman that walks into my studio.

Some clients choose outfits that are so comfortable, like a sweater with cute lace underwear and knee high knitted socks. Paired with a few of your favorite books and a cup of hot coco or coffee will really help to tell a story with your shoot.
Another popular choice is "his shirt" for an outfit. She will bring in a shirt that is significant in their relationship, the dress shirt he wears to work, the one he was wearing when they got married or his favorite t-shirt, and it brings such a sweet sentimental meaning to it. You'd better believe he will be thinking of you when he slips it back on!
If your guy is a hunter, wearing his camp hoodie as a "dress" will surely be a hit! Pair it will some sexy heels and it is a solid 10 for outfit choice.
If you want sexy without baring it all, consider a look like this one. Leggings with a sheer panel, a leather biker vest and an amazing pair of lace up shoes. This is proof that confidence is the most beautiful outfit.
And speaking of shoes...NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF SHOES. They can finish up an outfit, add length to your body or be the center of attention with their colors, textures, size, ect. As one of my mentors told me, the higher the heel...the closer to heaven. Don't worry if you can't walk in heels, for a boudoir session, heels are merely an accessory and safety is always first.
I have a collection of outfits in the studio wardrobe and one of the most popular items to borrow is my silk robes. The color of this one is stunning on most women and it is very roomy which is perfect for posing by stretching, pulling, bunching or just letting the silk cascade naturally down the bed. Bring your favorite matching set of bra and underwear and you have so many possibilities.
My favorite unconventional "outfit" is the white sheet set up. It is so simple because all you have to worry about is your undies...and you probably won't even see them! The sheet helps to accentuate the body's natural curves whereas clothing can impede that. I hope this helps you to think outside the lingerie box when you are planning your three outfits for a boudoir session at Sheer Lace Photography.
