Being Fake | Boudoir Photography
I am not ashamed to admit it. I am a faker with every single session I shoot. Fake-ity, fake fake faker. Wait...what?? How am I fake? I am ALL ABOUT the fake windows. I fake 99% of the windows you see and I am NOT ashamed one tiny bit.
Yup, that's right. With the exception of my fabulous French Doors...all of the lighting I use is artificial studio lighting. I am a proud studio light boudoir photographer. Having a boudoir photography studio in Ogdensburg, NY means sunlight is not always available or consistent.
I decided early on that I was going to learn and master studio lighting so I could produce consistently beautiful boudoir pictures for my clients and spend my attention focusing on making them feel comfortable rather than fiddling with my camera settings.
When I first started my boudoir photography journey in 2016, I thought my boudoir portfolio would get better "once I got a natural light boudoir studio" to run my business. It turns out, I was DEAD WRONG and I was closing my mind off to really great possibilities. Once I learned how to use artificial lighting properly, I realized that LIGHT IS LIGHT. It doesn't matter what kind of light...as long as I know how to use that light, my images will turn out great! Natural light is great...but it's not a requirement for taking stunning boudoir photos.
